Welcome!

Pootle is a free and open web environment for translators. It enables us to translate webpage contents, presentations, PDF files, menus and many other items. The translator interface is very simple. Just choose a language or project title, click, and translate. You no longer need to worry about the document layout. Pootle automatically performs the substitution and places the translated content in its correct positions within the files. Proofreading is also implemented (contact your Language Coordinator for details).

Note: You need to register before Pootle will recognize you.

• To avoid any senseless duplication of efforts and to ensure full global support to all translators & proofreaders, all LTI translation efforts are coordinated within dedicated Language Teams. If you are not yet connected with your team (or no such team yet exists), first register in the LTI Forum and introduce yourself.
• If you are here to join the English Proofreading Team, please first introduce yourself in the LTI forum to connect with the English Dep't coordinators. The vast majority of English Proofreading takes place outside of Pootle.
• Please do not select "English" as a language or "English Proofreading" as a project unless you intend to be a member of the English Proofreading Team. Those two are not needed for translators and translation proofreaders.
• When making your selections, please do not select "Terminology" as one of your projects. It's a non-translatable internal project that we will eventually put to very good use, based on each team's own glossary of terms/phrases collection.
• There may be some projects that are specific to a single Language Team, such as French Chapter. Please do not include these in your selections unless you are a member of the stated Language Team.
